Intakes
Australian Universities and most private colleges offer two major intakes:
February / March intake - July / August intake
Intakes may also be referred to as a semester(s) in some universities. While a few universities follow the trimester system and have a smaller intake in which starts in October / November for limited courses. Most vocational institutes have their intakes in January, May or July, depending upon the course.
Student Visas
All students from India who want to study in Australia need to obtain a student visa (subclass 500 visa). This visa allows you to study for up to five years (depending on the length of your course) in one of Australian university or institute.
Students to submit their application at least 9 to 12 weeks before the course commencement date. The process of Australian student visa begins with the application for admission in university / institute. Then an offer letter would be sent first where they accept you to join a course, based on which you need to pay the first semester fee and overseas student health cover, after this step they will receive the Confirmation of Enrolment (coe) certificate
As a part of the student visa application you will also need to get your health check up done and provide proof that you are in good health. The health check-up and certificate can only be provided by the Panel doctor in your city authorized by the Australian government
Under the student visa policy students must lodge their visas online via the Immi Account at Department of Home Affairs website; this can also be done using an education agent or MARA agent via their organizational account.

After successfully completing studies in Australia students have several options available to them if they want to work and live in Australia. The Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485) allows students to live and work in Australia for upto 1.5 to 4 years
